How We Used Visme to Create an Infographic for DC TechDay Event

Untitled-12

On Tuesday, October 6, Visme will be exhibiting at TechDay in Washington D.C. as part of the “Let’s Create a New Startup Capital!” initiative.

We have been using Visme for our own marketing and communication needs since our last release. For example, to help raise awareness about the TechDay DC event, we created this infographic, which helps you visualize the event date, location (including an interactive map), and video of a prior event.

So, in light of the TechDay event, we decided to create an infographic to support and raise awareness about TechDay. Check it out below and get some insight into how we incorporated various forms of content into it.

What is TechDay?

TechDay is like a massive science fair for tech companies and startups. It serves as a platform to show off products to thousands of consumers, journalists, job seekers, and tech enthusiasts looking to celebrate an emerging venture.

Far from Silicon Valley, the event is being held in the nation’s capital, which has become a startup hub of the East Coast and a place where entrepreneurs can connect with high-caliber investors, renowned journalists, and the most sought-after talent. Visme is proud to be a part of this growing ecosystem.

At the event, we’ll be showcasing some new developments, including our long-awaited release, scheduled for later this year, as well as some cool free stuff (Swiss knives and portable chargers, anyone?) So if you are in the area, make sure to attend this free event and don’t forget to pick up your Swiss knife or mobile phone charger.

Some Key Features of the Infographic

  • All icons/assets are from Visme’s extensive vector library
  • A Google map was easily inserted using the embed feature
  • A Vimeo video was inserted using the video widget (also supports YouTube videos)
  • A GIF animation was added to enhance user interactivity (In section “as featured in”)
  • A call-to-action (“Register for Event”) was inserted to take users to a registration form

Here’s the TechDay Infographic

You can also embed to your own website or blog by adding below snippet to its HTML Code:

<script src=’//my.visme.co/visme.js’></script><div class=’visme_d’ data-url=’techday-infographic-17c7e1′ data-w=’800′ data-h=’4620′></div>

Or view for the full size version.

At Visme, we also use Visme!

Of course, any business vouches for its own product. But at Visme, we only adopt products that actually create value by increasing efficiency and productivity. So, as the capabilities of Visme have been refined, the more we find ourselves ditching professional design tools for Visme–so much so that we utilize it for the majority of our marketing and communication needs.

In fact, even when we create graphics in other programs such as Photoshop or Illustrator, we often find ourselves importing them into Visme so we can deliver them online and add further interactivity.

So, if you are in the D.C Metro area, join us at TechDay.

We’re also offering 10% off all Visme Premium plans up through October 15th. Use code TECHDAY when you upgrade to Premium and get your discount.

90% of all information transmitted to our brains is visual.
