Today I’m very excited to announce the release of a new Visme. It’s cleaner, easier to use and it’s going to set the foundation for some amazing things to come.
If you have been following us since the Beta launch a little over a year ago, you would have noticed that we listen to what our users say. All feature requests are reviewed internally and then carefully planned to find a common ground that will benefit our entire community.
It can be challenging at times because our users vary in age group, profession and level of expertise, but we’re getting pretty good at reaching a medium that can benefit all sides without alienating the other.
Fast forward to today, we have spent the last few months redesigning Visme and I’m excited to formally announce the launch of our new interface. It’s a direct reflection of the extensive user feedback and our analysis of the needs of our growing community.
I’ll keep this short and sweet; here’s what is changed and how it will benefit you.
To take a quick peek, checkout this short video:
Unless you are into User Interface design you probably have no idea what Monochromatic Flat design is; no worries: It simply means a clean and uniform user experience.
This is the third major release of Visme and in this version we have taken away the remaining bevels, shadows and gradients on our interface to achieve a flat design and at the same time we have done away with bright colors, in turn settling on a solid warm color as the primary with touches of secondary shades to achieve a clean and crisp look.
Here’s a comparison of our old interface versus the new version:
Why the major cleanup? Some of our users spend hours a day creating all types of content using Visme and we wanted the interface to allow them to concentrate on their content and prevent their work from being overshadowed by the editor features surrounding it.
Fonts have also become softer in both style and color. All of this has been done to allow a overall better experience for our end users.
For the designers out there, Roboto is our primary font of choice and we are mainly using 3 shades of the hex color: #2B3140
We needed to take a deeper look at Visme and add new measures and refinements to set the foundation for some great things to come. This new user interface allows us to present features seamlessly and it serves as a fabric to build new functionality in our upcoming releases.
We will be launching new categories of content, inching closer and closer to my long-term vision of making Visme “The” Swiss knife for Visual content.
To give you a taste, we went back and completely overhauled our Presentation template and launched new Infographics.
We have completely revamped our templates to push the boundaries of your Presentations.
Prior to this release our Presentation templates were not up to our standards; they were dull and based on an outdated 4:3 ratio (800 X 600 pixels) which in my opinion belong in the history books.
The fact is most displays are now set on a wide screen aspect ratio and much higher resolutions than just a few years ago. Our new templates are HD quality, and based on a 16:9 aspect ratio.
I personally created a presentation which I was using to showcase Visme at this years SXSW in Austin and no matter how big the screen I presented, the slides looked crisp and occupied the entire screen.
What does this all mean? Your Presentations will look crisp and beautiful on all recent displays including your HD TV. So the next time you want to make an impression with your Presentation, make sure you start with one of the new Visme templates.
When people think of online Presentation tools, they imagine sluggishly slow applications with limited features. Take our new Presentation template for a drive and see for yourself the improvement you will see in quality of your Presentations.
We also expanded on our Infographic library with over 40 new templates launched. Every template has been hand crafted by our design team from the ground up to fit various subjects and categories.
All you need to do is select one that fits your content’s needs and then take as little or much time as you like to modify the placeholder content with your own. You can add images, icons, text, video, and even embed content from third party web sources.
Some of you have been dying to see our new categories. Why the long delay?
Because we want to do it right. We’ve learned a lot from our engaged users and collectively using this valuable data to help us bring you amazing templates and categories of content to visualize your ideas and tell stories like never before.
The Foundation is poured and we’re going to be rolling out new categories of Visual content that will truly make Visme the “Swiss Knife of Visual Content”.
Product Demos, and the ability to translate ideas into wire frames along with number of other categories are just scratching the surface. Stay tuned!
Meanwhile take our new interface for a test drive and let us know what you think!
