Case Study: doSh Furnished Living adopting Visme

Today we are interviewing Donny Martin from doSh, a growing provider of high-end residential properties located in the heart of Pittsburgh,  United States.

doSh is using Visme to help improve their online marketing presence and has since began using it extensively to create various forms of digital content.

Here’s a short interview with co-founder Donny with insight into doSh and how they are putting Visme to work:

How did Dosh get started?

My wife Shima and I founded doSh about a year ago.  We had been managing a small condo building and started to realize that we enjoyed the work and were good at it.

I’m an engineer and found myself immediately drawn to the creative freedom and challenge of real estate design.  Shima had a background in business and a great eye for fashion and design.  Together we found a good balance of design and execution.  We couldn’t help but continue to seek new challenges in the field, leading ultimately to the development of doSh.

What does doSh do?

doSh provides high-end, furnished homes for rent in the Pittsburgh region.  We cater primarily to traveling professionals who’ve been temporarily assigned to Pittsburgh for work.

Our customers enjoy unique amenities such as 1500+ sq ft, multi-level living spaces; complimentary cleaning service; original artwork; and private entrances.  Each of our homes is ideally located in some of the best locations in the city and fully equipped and furnished with high quality materials.   We've been very well received so far, renting to a number of high-profile customers ranging from government officials to hollywood producers.

We’re truly passionate about doSh.  We enjoy being involved in every phase of the business, from renovating a property to interacting with the customers.  Our homes are designed and furnished to the highest standards.  We’re fortunate to now be recognized as Pittsburgh’s premier provider of furnished home rentals.

What makes you unique from your competitors?

Most apartment providers are profit driven.  They’re goal is cram as many units as possible in a building and rent that identity-less space for as much as possible.

doSh is people driven.  Instead of more units, we’d rather provide quality homes.  We design our homes for us to live in; spacious, open, and modern.  Nothing is installed unless we would be proud to have it in our own home.  Coupling this with a great location creates unique living spaces that people are excited to call home.

How did you hear about Visme and Why did you decide on using Visme for your presenting needs over other tools?

We’re a small business, just getting started in a very small niche market.  We needed a way to engage a wider audience and grow our name recognition.

Our solution was to create a comprehensive directory of shops, restaurants, and bars available in our target area.  I discovered Visme while evaluating visual communication options for this solution.  Visme provided the best array of options for us to easily configure and layer our maps and images without any design or programming knowledge.  

Tell us about any project(s) you created using Visme and why you created them.

Visme allowed us to customize a map of our target region and create a dynamic, interactive visualization of the amenities that the area has to offer.

Visme was used to embed our own logo on the map along with reference designators for the surrounding areas of interest.

By assigning functionality to these embedded images, we were able to bring the map to life and allow the user to quickly and conveniently explore the area without ever leaving the webpage.   We were able to achieve the map feature by simply inserting  (embedding) Google Maps using the embed feature of Visme which allows you the ability to insert virtually any content (ex. Forms, Surveys,  Maps, etc.) right into your project and then add custom shapes, images and content over it.

In our case we created hot spots that are linked to other slides by simply adding circular shapes and assigning a link to each.

We then published the project. We were able to easily embed the content right into our website to achieve a seamless experience.

What feature/functions do you like most about Visme?

Visme was a great find.  We had conceptualized this project weeks before implementation but could not find the right application to make it a reality.  We maintain our own website and do not possess the in-house knowledge to customize a feature like this.  Visme provided an extremely simple tool for this complicated problem.

Once we discovered Visme, we were quickly able to learn the program and complete the project in one evening.

Would you recommend Visme to others?

We already have.  Visme is an obvious choice for high-quality presentations and visual aids, but we’ve found it to be so much more than that.  We’re now using it extensively to build online marketing content and its even been amazingly useful for customer literature.

Applications for Visme seem to be limited only by the imagination of the user.  We’re fortunate to have discovered it and we haven’t heard anything but positive feedback from those we’ve referred it to.

What kind of service(s) do you offer at your organization and what sets you apart from your competitors?

A typical apartment with empty rooms and a one year lease is easy to find.  A person could easily find dozens of options online that meet their search criteria.  Apartment searches become much more challenging when deviating from these standards.

Quality short term housing is very difficult to find, leaving many temporarily assigned individuals and families settling with less than ideal living conditions.  doSh targets these working professionals who have been temporarily assigned to Pittsburgh.  We provide high-end homes in the best locations in Pittsburgh.  In addition to modern furnishings and state of the art appliances, all of our customers enjoy:
