Nearly 3 billion people use Facebook regularly, making this platform far and wide the most popular social media network.
This means you really want to ensure your content competes with the noise of other brands publishing graphics on the website, and the best place to start is by understanding the optimal photo sizes.
While profile photos are round on both Facebook Page and personal profiles, your uploaded photo should be square.
For optimal results, when using an image of your face, make sure your face is centered in the circle and your head isn’t cut off at the forehead or the chin. If using a logo, use a version that will fit nicely in a circle and won’t be cut off.
The best way to check this is by adding an empty circle to your graphic in the editor. Use the circle shape with a colored border and no fill to double-check your placement. Make sure the circle fits snugly in the square.

For profiles and pages, your Facebook cover photo should be 820 x 312 pixels, or any larger 16:9 aspect ratio. These cover photos show up on mobile at 640 x 360 pixels, so make sure your most important information is in that center area.

It's important to remember, though, that your channel cover photo appears differently depending on the device a viewer is on. Someone on a TV will see a different version of your channel art than someone on their computer as well as someone who is on their mobile device.
So while you need a 2560 x 1440 pixel channel art graphic to appear full-screen on TVs, computers will only see the center 2560 x 423, tablets will only see the center 1855 x 423 and smartphones will only see the center 1546 x 423.
So essentially, you need to have a full-screen graphic, but your most important information – i.e., your channel's name and contact information – needs to be within the center 1546 x 423 pixels.
