Color-presets

Have you ever noticed how certain color combinations incite pleasant emotions, while others instantly lower your morale and can even cause you to feel depressed? If you don't think so, just look at the two colors below and see how each affects your mood.

While the color on the left is a warm hue and may be associated with a a range of intense emotions, the color on the right is scientifically proven to be one of the world's most hideous colors--so much so that cigarette packs in the UK are now of this color to dissuade people from smoking.

This small test just goes to show that colors can have a great effect on how people perceive reality, be it a presentation, infographic or your actual product or service and the colors associated with it.

At Visme, we know that producing high-quality visual content in an efficient and creative manner can be especially challenging. This is why we decided to make it easier for our users to trigger just the right emotions and associations in viewers by providing them with 50 beautiful color combination presets.

From palettes reminiscent of a relaxing day at the beach to colors associated with elegance and prestige, any of these combinations can be quickly applied to a wide variety of project types of themes.

In this short tutorial, we're going to give you a few examples of how you can use these new combinations, which will save you time and energy in achieving just the right look.

1 Corporate Presentation.

Thinking of creating an awesome slide deck for your startup pitch or corporate annual report? The easiest way to get a head start is to choose one of Visme's dozens of presentation templates, which also come with multiple slide layouts for every need.

For our sample presentation, we chose the Annual theme and decided to apply our own background and color scheme, as seen below.

To do this, simply click on the Background icon found on the toolbar on the left side of the screen. Next, apply the background of your choice by either choosing one of the available templates or uploading your own image.

Then, instead of taking the time to look for a suitable color scheme, simply choose from any of the 50 different color combinations already available for you within Visme.

In this case, we looked for a matching color scheme and quickly found one and applied it by clicking on the elements and choosing the desired hue. And voilà! We already have the beginning of a visual theme for our corporate slide deck.

2 Travel-Themed Presentation.

What about a colorful presentation on travel destinations? There are plenty of vibrant and energetic combinations within Visme, such as the one seen above.

To achieve this look, we simply selected the image of our choice and applied the most appropriate color scheme, in line with the visual theme of the presentation.

To match with the awe-inspiring and vivid background, we decided to apply a color scheme with some of the same refreshing and invigorating hues and tones.

3 Interior Design Presentation.

On the other hand, if you're looking to create a minimalist presentation on interior design, for example, you could go with one of the vintage combinations, which come with a strong cyan, desaturated orange and soft yellow.

In this example, we chose a few of the colors in the vintage combination and applied them to the geometric decorative elements found in the Silicate theme.

4 Lively infographic.

Besides presentations, you can also create eye-catching infographics within Visme by choosing one of the hundreds of templates available under the Infographics category. Simply choose the desired template and then click on the different elements to apply your desired color scheme, as seen below.

For example, double click on the chart and then apply your color scheme by going to the Settings tab. and individually changing the color of each of the different segments.

5 Fashion-Themed Presentation

For a more fashion-forward look, we chose the Biohazard theme and applied our own styling and color palette.

As with the previous examples, we simply applied our own image to the background and rearranged the geometric elements to suit our design needs.

Then, we applied this serene and understated palette, with a range of greens with gray undertones, which matches well with the accompanying image.

6 Presentation on Sustainability

For your next presentation on environmental causes or sustainability, you could also go with this earthy and natural combination with olive and brown tones.

A good rule of thumb to keep in mind when applying your color scheme is to make sure that your overlayed elements provide some contrast with the background so that viewers' eyes are immediately drawn to them as the principle elements on your screen.

Also, avoid placing your text over busy parts of your image.

7 Map for Statistical Reportslide2

Lastly, you can also create maps for your reports or presentations. Simply click on the Statistics theme under the Presentations category. Once inside the Visme editor, you can click on the Add Slide button to the top right of your screen and choose the Map layout from the existing slide layout options.

Click on each of the elements--such as countries and text boxes--and change their colors by choosing the desired colors from the palette of your choice. This way, you can go from a map with primary colors to a more organic and earthy look, like the one seen above.
