Applying new text styles and combining the right fonts can make a world of a difference in the way your content is viewed by your audience.

Take, for example, this very straight-forward yet boring message with no styling, in the common and overused Times New Roman font:

text editor

Before: Plain text without any styling or color.

Now, let's look at how you can turn this into visually captivating text using Visme's new text widgets and text editing features:

After: Eye-catching text created with Visme's new text editor.

Big difference, right? This can easily be done right within Visme using many of the new features offered by the revamped version.

To help you create visuals like this and make the most of Visme's new text editor, we've created a short, step-by-step tutorial, with some useful tips for spicing up your content with different styling options. (Also, you can find the complete video version of this tutorial below.)

1 Create call-to-action buttons.

Padding2

Easily create interactive call-to-action buttons with Visme's new text editor.

One of the most useful things you can do with the new Visme text editor is create interactive call-to-action buttons, which come in handy when you want to take viewers to a certain landing page or encourage them to take a specific action.

All you have to do is click on the text icon found on the tool panel on the left side of your screen. Then, choose one of the different types of text boxes by clicking on it to drop it onto the canvas area, as seen in the short video above.

Next, you can use some of the new features to give your text box the look and feel of an interactive button.

To do this, simply add a bit of vertical and horizontal padding by adjusting the sliders found on the pop-up menu that appears when you click on the text box. Then, add a fill color to your new button by clicking on the colored box at the top of the pop-up menu and choosing the desired hue.

To give your button a more rounded look, go to the Border Properties section of your pop-up menu and choose the Solid option to outline your button. Then, add some roundness by adjusting the corresponding slider.

Finally, to make your button interactive, click on the text box and then on the Link option that appears in the pop-up menu. You can insert the URL of your landing page or the site you want visitors to be taken to and choose whether to have this site open up in a new window or in the current one.

Or, you also have the option of linking your button to another slide in your project or creating a roll-over text effect, which you can learn more about in this short tutorial.

2 Add granular styling.

Modify the size, color and font of each element within the same text box.

The new Visme editor also allows you to add granular styling to each of the different elements in your text box, as seen in the video above.

For example, you can change the size, font and style of a single word in your text box while maintaining the look of the rest of your content intact, which saves you the trouble of creating a new text box for each text element with a different style.

Also, you can conveniently adjust the line height (the space between each of the lines), as we did in the example above, and quickly transform text into uppercase, lowercase or all caps.

3 Use multiple fonts in one box.

font

Apply several different fonts within the same text box.

The new Visme text editor also allows you to use multiple fonts in a single text box, as seen in short video above. This saves you the time you would normally spend in creating additional text boxes and allows you to fully customize the way your content looks.

4 Combine other elements with text.

Select-Move-Multiple-Objects

Combine text with objects and move them all at once.

You can also easily combine text with other visual elements, such as shapes, icons and lines.

In the previous version of Visme, you were limited to copying single objects, whereas now you can select a number of objects, move them and duplicate them, which saves a lot of time in the process of creating an infographic or presentation with several sections that follow a similar visual style.

Move text more easily

In the new version of Visme, you can move and drag text with greater ease.

With the new Visme text editor, you can also move text with greater ease. You can simply click anywhere on the text box and move it around, whereas previously, you were required to click precisely over the text block borders to select and move it to the desired location.

5 Use updated text widgets.

textwidget

Use the updated text widgets to quickly insert customizable, stylized text frames.

Finally, you can also easily create text boxes with different fonts, colors and styles using Visme's built-in text widgets.

All you have to do is click on the text icon on the left panel and select a text box from the different styles available, as seen above. Once you deselect it (by clicking outside of the shape), the objects become ungrouped and you can then easily modify each of the different layers, resizing each as needed and adding granular styling.
