You might not have noticed this before, but icons are all around us. From the moment we wake up and check our cellphones to the moment we drive our cars out onto the highway, we’re bombarded by these super-efficient communication symbols.

In fact, for many of us, the first thing we look at in the morning is not the world outside our window nor even the people around us. In 8 out of 10 cases, we immediately look at our cellphones and these irresistible icons:

In line with this trend, it is imperative nowadays to know how to wield these tiny symbols to get your message across even without words.

In a previous post, we discussed how to properly use icons in your projects to achieve a cohesive design theme and style. In this post, we introduce 150+ new vector icons available for your use right within Visme and explain how to apply each one, depending on your content needs.

So What’s New?

1 Business

Nearly 50 new outline icons have been added to the Business category. These outline icons are perfect for minimalist designs with a friendly but modern look.

They leave out all the tiny details and instead focus on general shapes that send a clear message, regardless of the cultural context. From different types of currencies to symbols depicting growth trends, these simple but effective icons will send a clear message to your audience, such as in the example below.

You can also find more than 50 new symbols in the Health & Medical category. These include both outline and glyph icons, which are nothing more than simple, monochromatic symbols that resemble ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics--hence the name.

All of these are ideal for creating anatomical infographics that display various parts and organs of the human body, as seen below. And if you don’t like the default color scheme, you can easily change each of the individual colors within Visme.

Another 50 icons have been added to the Shapes category, both in outline, glyph and flat color design. This third category refers to icons without any 3D elements. These are flat and minimalistic, but also stylish and eye-catching since they normally appear in bright, vivid colors.

From hexagons and octagons to trapezoids and multi-level pyramids, there are now several shapes you can use to build your own custom diagrams, such as the one below.

Visme now offers 25 new glyph-style icons in the People category. These include silhouettes of children, mothers and caretakers, which can be used in a variety of design projects, especially nonprofit infographics.
